Style Profile: Amber Rose
Who’s that girl? Amber Rose, Kanye West’s latest arm candy and rumored girlfriend has a style all her own. The eccentric Rose is bold enough to step out in slinky catsuits, body-hugging dresses and funky accessories to boot. She really pushes the envelope. It’s no wonder this stylish diva is upstaging her man!
The Giambattista Valli spring 2010 collection features pretty looks with lots of of extras.
This week at Ideeli…
BET will always find something to celebrate, even if award shows dominate most of its programming. Hopefully that will change this year. At any rate, this year’s BET Honors took place on Saturday, January 16th at the Warner Theater in Washington, D.C. Gabrielle Union hosted. Honorees include: Queen Latifah, Whitney Houston, Dr. Keith Black, Dr. Ruth Simmons, and Sean “Diddy” Combs. The show will air February 1st on the network. Check your local listings for times.
Halle Berry is launching her second fragrance, Pure Orchid. the success of her debut scent Halle (the fragrance spent six months at the top of women’s fragrance sales), Berry wanted to celebrate her second year with Coty with a new fragrance.
The fragrance has top notes of crisp Italian lemon, papaya nectar, jungle cactus flower; at the heart is Masdevallia Orchid, blackberry creme and star anise; a drydown of sequoia, patchouli and tonka bean. Pure Orchid will go on sale in February and will be sold in 0.5 and 1 ounce bottles for $17 and $28 respectively.
Diane von Furstenberg is my kinda girl. She designs with intention and knows how to keep even the most structured looks feminine. Known for her signature wrap dresses, she doesn’t fall behind when it comes to designing other garments. Her latest effort is a touch modern chic and a dash of bohemian with a classic ladylike twist.
While I love the black and silver combination Alicia Keys is wearing, the tights and shoes together made me cringe. Did she hit it? Or did she miss it?
If you were born during my time (early 70s) you might be able to full appreciate the legacy of music Teddy Pendergrass left behind. Before there was Neyo, R. Kelly, Keith Sweat and Gerald LeVert, there was Teddy. In true Aries fashion, only Teddy could outshine his former group Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes and have a career more successful than any artist (along with Marvin Gaye) of his time.
He was the first singer to do ladies only concerts where women would throw their lingerie up on stage in hopes of landing a T.K.O with Teddy. When he said Come on and Go With Me, we wanted to go. When he told us to Turn Off Lights, we did.
Only his smoky vocals could make every woman want to slip off into his world of R&B and take a trip to a place where music truly evoked our emotions. I feel sorry for the youth of this generation. The ballads with longing, passion, love, and sincerity have come in the form of childlike anthems, over-synthesized hooks, and an emptiness not even a good beat can fill. We will miss Teddy Pendergrass but know he is always here with his music. Thanks for the memories T.P.
Elie Tahari has always been a brand that has not good quality garments, but great style. His collections always embody the feminine spirit and capture that glamorous essence we love. His latest effort is no exception. It’s pretty color adorn flawless styles.
