The entertainment industry celebrated the 10th Anniversary of BET Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 27th at the Shrine Auditorium. The red carpet, awards, pre and post parties saw everything from booty shorts to wedding gown to braided mohawks to saddle shoes, and everything in between.  Check out some of the good, bad, and ugly fashions!

Taraji P. Henson, a true chocolate fashionista wore a sexy polar ice dress by Mandalay with ruched asymmetrical detail to Sunday’s 10 Year Anniversary Celebration of the BET Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday. Taraji paired the dress with a sleek metallic clutch and matching slingback heels.

It’s that time of year again! The 2010 BET Awards are taking place today in Los Angeles at the Shrine Auditorium. The Pre-BET Beauty Suite was held at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills yesterday, featuring tons of beauty products, treatments and makeovers.  The event was hosted by AJ Crimson.

Ever see somebody in a fabulous outfit from the front, then they turn around and you’re like, “WTH?”

The key to looking fabulous from all angles is to make sure you look good from behind first. This means finding undergarments that are appropriate for your attire. When you’re wearing fitted pants consider a thong or a pair of  mid-thigh shapers. A fitted dress should always have a smooth appearance.  Mid-thigh shapers or body-shaping slips provide a smooth finish for even the tightest garments. If you’re wearing something sheer, try a nude shade undergarment depending on the dress color.

The importance of looking good from behind is all about looking in the mirror before you leave the house. If you leave the house went dents, lumps, and bumps in the back, either you don’t own a mirror, didn’t look in it, or don’t have friends and family who love you! Friends don’t let friends go out with lumps!

For those of you have a little jelly a.k.a. cellulite, you definitely need to find an undergarment that works with your attire. I remember sitting behind a well-known actress at an award show only to see that beneath her dress (and it wasn’t even fitted), she had more bumps in the road than Mulholland Drive! Can you say SPANX!

But shapewear is not limited to what’s on top, wearing the appropriate upper-body shapewear is important too. Bra straps peeking out from undergarments are not very stylish. They ruin your whole look. Try a strapless bra or wear pasties if you don’t want the appearance of bra lines.

Don’t ever think you don’t need smoothing undergarments, especially if you have a little more curves than the rest of us. If you don’t want to spend a lot of money on shapewear, visit a store like Target whose collection of shapewear is just as good as any department store’s with recession friendly prices. People do notice your rear end flaws and yes, they will talk about you. It is not cute!

Get a nude attitude for summer.

When you think of nude you immediately think of soft and understated. But nude takes on a sexier look this summer and don’t let anyone tell you chocolate fashionistas can’t wear nude shades. Nude meshes with every skin tone from dark chocolate to butter pecan to cafe au lait!
