Ralph Lauren’s Newest Pony
Ralph Lauren is debuting a new women’s fragrance in April called, the Big Pony Collection. The fragrance is being sold exclusively at Bloomingdale’s this month but will hit additional retailers just in time for Easter!
There are four scents in the collection:
No. 1 is a sporty floral citrus blend with grapefruit and blue lotus and hints of jasmine, cedarwood and musk.
No. 2 is for the sensuous with a floriental mix that includes cranberry and tonka mousse as well as grapefruit, mandarin, guava, and water lily. At the heart is a blend of honeysuckle, lily of the valley and magnolia; and a dry down of vanilla extract, marshmallow, must and sandalwood.
No. 3 is for the bohemian at heart with a pleasant mix of pear and mimosa; floral green juice, kumquat, heart of mimosa and buttercup.
Lastly of the bunch is No. 4, centered around cherry and purple amber; it also includes blood orange, watermelon, heart of magnolia flower, cristallon, and a drydown of sandalwood and purple amber.
The scents will retail for $55 for 50 ml and $70 for 100 ml and aesthetically speaking will be derivatives of the men’s flasklike bottles –with a more feminine look. The collection will be sold in 2500 department and specialty stores.
Beauty: Gucci Pleads Guilty
Gucci’s New Fragrance Not So Innocent.
Highly sensual and deeply sinful, Gucci’s latest fragrance Guilty, is seduction in a bottle. Targeted toward the stiletto-clad social media addicts, Guilty is a blend of oriental florals with hints of amber and lilac. The scent is light, and appropriate for evening rather than day (and that is my personal opinion).
The bottles all-gold design with the brand’s signature interlocking Gs is luxe in itself, exposing the amber-colored concoction to eyes with as much sensuality as the scent does for the senses. 
Gucci Guilty is set to hit stores in September and will come in three sizes priced from $55 for 30ml to $75 for 50 ml. The fragrance will also include body lotion, shower gel, and body powder shimmer.
If you like sensual scents that aren’t overpowering, Gucci Guilty is just what you need for your fragrance collection.
My Life sends HSN sales through the Roof.
Mary J. Blige is a beauty powerhouse. The singer debuted her new fragrance My Life on HSN (in a partnership with Carol’s Daughter) and sold $3 million dollars worth of scent according to Women’s Wear Daily.
Blige and host Cathie Northagen sat in front of cameras in a lush living room setting complete with a creme colored couch, orange blooms and mahogany wood tables. The setting was rather plush, encompassing the image of the fragrance and Mary perfectly.
My Life went live on HSN Saturday and sold more than $72,000 units of fragrance and ancillaries within a single 24-hour period, a record high for HSN. The industry is taking note of My Life’s presence no doubt, with numbers like that they’ll have to keep the fragrance stocked like Mary’s platinum albums on a record store shelf. Congrats Mary, the scent smells great.
Keri Hilson makes a short stop!
I’m digging Keri Hilson’s outfit she wore to Los Angeles premiere of Takers. The black ruffle collared top, poufy sleeves, wide belt and printed creme and black shorts are tres chic. Her chandelier earrings accent her short cut, even though I am not feeling the blonde hair much because it washes her out. But ultimately this ensemble is a winner.
Mariah Carey’s new Lollipop Bling are sweet scents! The collection which hits stores this month also has a cool catch; each one is named after a Mariah Carey song.
Honey is a bright and fruity fragrance with a mix of its namesake and pineapple. Ribbon, probably the most subtle of the bunch, has floral base and is perfect for a summer date. Mine Again has a sweeter scent and has magnolia and chocolate raspberry.
My favorite? Honey. It’s light and fresh and lingers just long enough to create an air of mystery.
The eau de parfums are available in 1.0 fl oz. bottles for $35 at Macy’s and Macys.com. Dillards, Sephora and J.C. Penney will also retail the fragrances.
Pucci is introducing a new fragrance, Miss Pucci. The scent is the first for Pucci since 1996, and is set for release in August.
Miss Pucci has top notes of magnolia and Sicilian winter lemon. At the heart is Turkish rose, Comoros ylang-ylang, Tunisian orange blossom, Arabian Jasmine and a drydown of Texas cedar, iris, and powdered white musk.
Miss Pucci will be sold exclusively in Sephora boutiques in a 50mil size for $72.00
Essence Festival fans and attendees got a real treat. Mary J. Blige debuted her new fragrance My Life during the Essence Festival on Saturday, July 3rd. The scent, which officially launches at the end of the month (see: Mary J. Blige’s My Life Fragrance), will be sold exclusively by HSN in partnership with Carol’s Daughter beginning July 31.

Vanilla takes its place in several beauty products on the scene this summer. Vanilla is said to arouse the senses of men so perhaps ladies we can use them to our benefit. In everything from fragrance to lip balm, from subtle to strong vanilla is everywhere.

The third installation of the Dior’s Escale collection fuses blood orange essence, vanilla absolute and Tahitian tiare flower. ($87; Nordstrom)
Clarins Instant Sun Light Click & Gloss Spf 6 in 01 Vanilla
Perfect for kissing! This gloss mixes vanilla and raspberry is made with shea butter and sunflower seed oil and comes in three shades. ($18; Clarins counters)
Tom Ford Beauty Private Blend Lip Color in Vanilla Suede
The former Gucci designer and future designer of the Tom Ford women’s collection introduces his new makeup collection featuring 12 creamy nude to cherry-hued lipsticks with glamour-girl gold and ivory packaging. Vanilla Suede has Brazilian murumuru butter, chamomilla flower oil and soja seed extract for a smooth finish. ($45; Saks)
Coach Poppy

Mark The Big Fix 15-in-1 Big Benefits Balm
Mark’s first Fair Trade body collection fuses cocoa butter, olive oil and vanilla sourced from India, and can be used 15 different ways, from softening cuticles and heels to keeping unruly eyebrows in place. Striking (like her beauty) while the iron is hot, Halle Berry is introducing her third fragrance, Reveal. considered to be a classic fragrance, with a floral scent is her most wearable yet. Reveal is an intoxicating mix of Halle’s favorite flower, mimosa, as well as notes of honeydew melon, peach, and red berries. At the heart; iris blossom, plumeria, and neroli petals, followed by a base of vetiver, cashmere woods and musk.
According to Women’s Wear Daily, Berry says the fragrance is “very special part of the composition — iris can be a bit dark or woody.” She selected those ingredients to give the fragrance a velvety, soft , airy feel.
The eau de parfum has three sizes — 0.5 oz. for $17, 1 oz. for $35 U.S., and a 1.7 oz. for $35 in the U.S. The 6.7 oz. body lotion will retail for $12.50 and a 75-ml. deodorant natural spray. Reveal will hit stores August and will launch in about 25,000 mass market and midtier stores. A fourth fragrance is also in the works. Sounds like the smell of success is sweet for Miss Berry.
Poppy will head straight to stores including Bloomingdale’s, Nordstrom, Macy’s and Sephora in July. The fruity blend has top notes of bright cucumber flower petals, juicy mandarin and bright baby freesia buds. At the heart is a blend of petally jasmine, pink water lily, Southern gardenia and crème brûlée. The drydown is a mix of cedarwood, bleached sandalwood, lush vanilla and whipped marshmallow.
Poppy will retail for $60 for a 1.7 ounce eau de parfum bottle, $38 for a purse spray, and $35 for a 5 ounce body lotion.
